Online catalogue shopping is one of the most lucrative businesses on the Web. With a growing number of consumer patrons who would rather sit down in front of the computer; and would rather stay away from competing with the crowd in the malls, catalogue shopping online is a sure hit nowadays.

However, despite the increasing demand of online purchase, consumers are not spared of time-consuming, and sometime confusing online shopping experience. This is mainly due to a poor level of usability of most e-commerce sites. Sometimes a sale becomes a page exit from the website because the shopper was not happy with the online shopping experience.

If you are an online catalogue shopping site owner, it is just imperative that you find ways to improve the “user-friendliness” of your shopping website. That way, you can help potential buyers in finding what they are searching for. At the same time, you can have repeat customer visits.

Here are a few tips in order to optimize your catalogue shopping site for better usability:

Make use of headings, subheadings, and breadcrumb navigation.
This way you can assure the shopper that he is not lost in the site. It tells immediately what category of page he is in now. It also saves time and effort on his part.

Place the search bar on the top area of the page.
Ideally the search bar must be simple and plain for easy usage. Also, you can device it in a way that it can search per catalogue or category for easier search experience. Place this above the fold so users can easily take advantage of this when searching for merchandise.

Have your contact information or phone number placed on top of the page.
Of course it’s more convenient for you and the shopper to track purchases made online. However, allowing shoppers to contact you can help you establish relationships with your loyal customers. It also provides a certain level of security for the shopper when they see that the catalogue shopping site has a legitimate phone number and address.

Create a “show page” functionality in your site.
Shoppers must have an option to see a part of the page, for example a particular item in display, and a choice to show the entire page for each product category. This way you are giving your customers more buying choices to choose from.

Offering products is just as good as guaranteeing an excellent user experience for online shoppers. To aim for a user-friendly catalogue shopping website is in fact, a unique selling point, as well.

Now now, do I hear catcalls? Believe me I am not here to promote feminism either. That is again your choice. But I am here to share with all my experience with retail shopping online. I got hooked on to online shopping in the late 90s. Like many other online transactions in those days were painstakingly slow, unsafe and hardly seemed to score over over-the-counter shopping.
Today however the things have changed. Internet has revolutionized the way we see things, do things, and of course ‘buy’ things. Want a 10% discount on your ordered food? Order online instead of calling up the food joint! This is one of the most common advantages of today’s online shopping scenario, not to say the least – the comfort of shopping from home. As someone deeply involved in homemaking, a mom and of course balancing between my online business and family life, I have always looked for ways to make it easier for people like me. Juggling a lot of things may at times prove difficult.
So in this article I will try and look at two backbones of running a family and how to make it easier for you. At Asda Promotional Code, I have a list of great deal of discount codes that you can use while shopping for your home – groceries, flower or DVDs – it’s all there under one ‘url’ in ASDA. I have also included a review of the products in ASDA and their promotional offers so that as a consumer you really do not have to buy something and then realize that it was a bad decision – you can make an informed decision before buying the product! The promotional offers are many and range from free delivery to 10% off on all gift items bought at ASDA. You will not get these promotional offers in your regular newspapers, these are updated everyday and many discounts do not require you to spend a minimum amount as is common with most promotional offers. So make your life a bit easier and save some money when you are at it using promotional codes.
My other favorite place to shop for the children and family is Boots. I enjoy their professional service and wide range of products. So at Boots Promotional Code you will find a list of promotional offers available at Boots. Each offer will have an expiry date, a review by customers who have availed of the offer and also a review of the products available at Boots.
Since we update all the offers regularly, you won’t be losing out on anything new. So don’t wait and make the most out of retail shopping while making your house a home to live in.

The Internet has completely revolutionized the retail shopping industry. With online shopping, the consumer now has many different ways to shop without ever having to leave the comfort of their own home. Prior to the Internet, catalog sales were the only way that people could shop from their recliner while seated in front of the television. The choices you had were limited to the catalogs with which you had a subscription. Online shopping has revolutionized the way people are shopping from home.

The Consumer Controls The Online Shopping Industry

With the creation of the Internet, competitive shopping and pricing has taken a complete turn for the consumer. As a consumer that uses the Internet for most of my personal and gift shopping, I have learned to price compare through visits to web sites of retail outlets, major discount markets, shopping forums such as craigslist and auction companies like ebay. Online shopping provides multiple resources for the consumer price and product compare with multiple retail outlets. This freedom is the boost that keeps the Online shopping industry gaining in popularity.

Retail Outlets And Online Markets Compete For Business

With the wide range of Online shopping outlets, I can actively seek a price that I want to pay for an item, rarely do I pay full retail price for anything. I can go online shopping at a major toy store and gather information on the retail cost of the gifts or items I want to purchase. I can then go to discount online outlets or auction sites and price shop for the items. Without ever leaving my home, I can shop and compare for nearly every purchase that I want to make.

King of Prussia Mall, Mall of America, South Coast Plaza, Sawgrass Mills and Del Amo Fashion Center are the prominent shopping centers in the US.

Below is an overview of the 5 prominent shopping centers.

King of Prussia Mall

The conception for the King of Prussia Mall began in 1959. M.A. Kravitz Company, Inc. now popularly known as Kravco Company, started to conceptualize a discount center to be built on a 30-acre location. The center was to incorporate a local supermarket network and E.J. Korvette, a department store.

Two years ago, the Kravco Company had to make changes in the architectural concept to produce a combination of open mall and shopping complexes, which would accommodate three department stores including J.C.Penney and E.J. Korvette.

The building of the King of Prussia Plaza was finished in 1963, and it was opened to the people the same year. The mall’s open spaces featured exceptionally remarkable outdoor attractions such as beautiful landscapes, amphitheatre, promenade, gazebos, and cascading waters.

In 1967 the Plaza developed into a real shopping complex in the region with enclosed and open mall areas that contained almost 150 retail shops.

By 1980 through 1981, the King of Prussia Plaza underwent renovation as three-storey parking sites and other structures had to be constructed.

The building of The Court, an important renovation of the King of Prussia Plaza, had resulted in a new floor, roofs, as well as interior landscape.

Over the succeeding years, expansions and renovations were performed. The latest major addition was The Pavilion.

Covering almost three million square feet of business domain, The King of Prussia Mall now contains The Pavilion, The Court, and The Plaza. It also lodges 365 specialty stores, seven department stores, and more than 40 restaurants and is considered as the biggest shopping mall in the United States.

Mall of America

In 1982, The Vikings and the Twins, pro football and baseball teams of Minnesota, left Bloomington’s Met Stadium to transfer to the downtown Metrodome.

In 1985, the Port Authority of the city of Bloomington acquired the 78 acres location that housed the Met Stadium. Four proposals were presented; however it was the proposal for a combined entertainment and retail complex that gained approval.

The following year, the Bloomington Port Authority tasked the Ghermezian brothers to build what would become the United States’ biggest retail and entertainment center. Melvin Simon and Associates, one of the biggest contractors of shopping malls in the country, became a part of the historic project in 1987.

The Ghermezian’s, Melvin Simon and Associates, and the Teachers Insurance and Annuity began to break the ground for the Mall of America on June 14, 1989.

Mall of America opened in August 11, 1992, a day that would alter the reputation of Minnesota for the many years to come.

South Coast Plaza (Costa Mesa)

Business partners and cousins Henry T. Segerstrom and Harold T. Segerstrom launched South Coast Plaza, in the land where the family used to grow lima bean. It’s in Orange County and the date was March of 1967.

The shopping center quickly prospered and generated expansion and renovation. Added annexes were built in the area of Bullock, I. Magnin, Nordstrom, and Saks Fifth Avenue in different years. The launching of the Nordstrom shop is a one decisive episode since it was out of the vicinity of the Pacific Northwest.

South Coast Plaza started to open its biggest expansion in 1986 as Nordstrom took the place of its shop with a latest site 2 times bigger as the first one.

The Mall has roughly an area of 2,600,000 square feet, which contains more than 280 stores. The Plaza is still owned by the Segerstroms this present day.

Sawgrass Mills

Sawgrass Mills opened in 1990. It is Florida’ biggest and the fourth biggest shopping mall in the US, with its retail area of 2,500,000 square feet. Sawgrass Mills lies in Flamingo Road and West Sunrise Blvd., Sunrise, Florida.

It has become so popular for its inimitable alligator-shaped structure. More than three hundred brands and retail shops are housed in the mall and that includes J.C. Penney, Saks Fifth Avenue, The Gap, Neiman Marcus, plus a lot more.

Sawgrass Mill’s newest expansion was completed in 2006.

Del Amo Fashion Center

For a time Del Amo Fashion Center was the nation’s biggest shopping complex. However when Mall of America opened in 1992, it was outshined. It is now ranked fifth among USA’s largest shopping malls.

Guilford Glazer a real estate expert, developed Del Amo that has progressed in the span of many years from a merger of expansions on the crossroads of Carson and Hawthorne in Torrance, California.

Del Amo Mall was opened by The Broadway, an average department store chain, in 1959. Yet the mall itself, along with Sears and J.C. Penney outlets, opened in 1961 at the Hawthorne Boulevard and southeast side of Carson Street.

Del Amo Fashion Square revived as a second shopping center in 1975. This time it encompassed added outlets like Montgomery Ward and it lengthened I. Magnin.

After three years, Glazer purchased adjacent Del Amo Mall. In November 1981 the two previously detach shopping centers were formally fused to establish what is recognized today as Del Amo Fashion Center.

If you like to shop, then Richmond B.C. and the rest of the city of Vancouver is the place to be. With over 8 malls between them you’re sure to find what you’re looking for. Arberdeen Centre located in Richmond, is one of the largest malls in the greater Vancouver area and is located in what is referred to as the Golden District. It is geared more toward those of Asian descent, but caters to just about everyone. It also has a musical fountain show that begins at noon and continues to give a show every hour after. A nice touch to a day spent bargain shopping at the mall.

Bargain and Discount shopping

Richmond has plenty to offer in the way of discount and bargain shopping with a wide range of different retail stores like banana republic, The Gap, Guess, and American Eagle. With all these great stores you are bound to score some great savings, either through store flyers, store coupons, or in-store discounts and savings. The Pacific Centre is one of downtown’s largest malls and contains well over 200 shops including the ones mentioned, along with other high-end department stores and a food court. Many of the large Asian-themed malls include: The Yaohan Centre in Richmond B.C. where you can find well over 80 stores; Parker Place has well over 200 retail stores, shops, and high end stores; Lansdowne Centre with over 120 shops; President’s Place, Union Square Mall includes retail stores, high end stores, food court, and even karaoke.

Even the Vancouver International Airport has over 110 different shops and services, ranging from high end souvenirs, food court, retail shops, and salons. Vancouver’s shopping is almost second to none with a unique and eclectic mix of themed malls and diverse landscape of the type of malls that make up the sunshine coast. Many of the better discount coupons can be found during both special times of the year, like back to school, or, during festive times such as Christmas. You may even be able to find some stores with discount savings on marked racks, in many cases up to 80% off.

Whether you’re looking for high end fashion or bargain shopping, Vancouver and the greater Richmond B.C. area definitely will have something to fit your taste. If shopping malls are not really what you like they are still defiantly worth seeing. They’re are a great place to visit if your trying to stay out of the weather. The architecture used in some of these malls is amazing, not to mention they are some of the largest in all of Canada. So if you’re touring Vancouver or a local the malls here have something waiting for you. Grab your store coupons or store flyer and head down to one of these great malls. You are most likely to add up some saving with these and the in store discounts, that way you can “shop ‘till you drop” without breaking the bank.

There are many other bargain shopping that you can find through the smaller stores found in both Richmond and Vancouver and the best place to look is through the flyer inserts in the local newspaper, or, through looking up the stores through on-line shopping discount sites. Many times, you will find some of the best discounts in places you never thought you would. Make sure to visit these online discount shopping sites before you head out for the day so that you can be assured the most savings possible. If you use discount coupon books such as the Entertainment Book, you can plan many of your shopping days around that based on the expiry date of these coupons.

Internet shopping is shaping up. However today, internet shopping is a really significant part of the retail sector. Internet shopping is the new shopping experience of the future. Of course the other major hurdle for internet shopping is shipping charges, sometimes they are to expensive. The growth rate for Internet shopping is growing. Secure internet shopping is secure using encryption and ssl techniques. Internet shopping is easier, safer, and more convenient than at any point in its history. Internet shopping is fast becoming one of the easiest ways to buy almost anything you want. Internet shopping is a way of shopping that allows shopping for required products without going to the store physically. The Internet is great because people are able to shop 24 hours a day without having to leave their home or work.
The Internet is changing the wholesale/retail landscape daily. In today’s market the shopping sector is taking about a tenth of all retail shopping sales in the US, and the percentage in other countries is not as high. One reason we use the internet is to buy merchandise at a discount to retail.
One of the biggest benefits of shopping online is the convenience and access to more products and information 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Note that blocking all cookies prevents some online services from working, so you must allow cookies on your browser. Nearly 40 percent of remote workers said they use their work computers for Internet shopping. Be a smart shopper and use common sense when online shopping and just go ahead and enjoy your Internet shopping experience today. The more people that shop online, the bigger their expectations. The supermarket industry now services many customers through online food shopping over the Internet. We understand that shopping online can feel risky and uncertain.
The following tips will help ensure a safe Internet shopping. If you follow this advice on safe Internet shopping, this should not be a problem. All purchases are made through safe and secure servers. It’s safe to say SSL is extremely sophisticated software and safe. Always know where your cards are and keep them in a safe place.
The phenomenal success of online retailers such as Amazon and Expedia is proof that internet shopping is practiced – and trusted – by millions. Of course the other major hurdle for internet shopping is shipping charges, sometimes shipping is much more than the product. Whether we love it or hate it, Internet shopping is convenient, provides a wide choice and competitive prices. Internet shopping is a big time-saver. As mentioned above, Internet shopping is very much like conventional in-home shopping from catalogs or mail orders. Despite the toughening competition, Internet shopping is likely to continue to grow.

Ah…..fabric! The colours! The textures! The rampant confusion! Stepping into a fabric store or a mall for the first time can be an intimidating experience. In fact, some times the most passionate buyers can find themselves at loss.

The world of fabrics is full of variety; the two main types of fabrics being natural and synthetic. Natural fabrics are the best buy regardless of season, festival or occasion. They look pleasant and breathe better than synthetics. Once you’re hooked on them, you never look back, until, perhaps, when you are getting married and have to wear a fancy jora.

Natural fabrics

Linen is by far the best choice for summer wear, since it breathes wonderfully, and also gets softer after every wash. It comes in different textures, from sheer handkerchief type to thicker, denim-style, and is available in a variety of colours. Silk is also a wonderful natural fabric, though it is rather on the steep side.

Of all the natural fabrics, cotton is the safest bet because it is affordable, and is readily available in a wide range of colours and designs. Lawn, which can be either cotton or a blend, is perhaps the most popular summer fabric. Voil, with its fresh, cool prints is another favourite.

For winters, of course, the most popular fabric is wool which is also available in a variety of colours, weaves and textures.

Synthetic fabrics

Synthetic fabrics such as nylon, rayon and polyester, etc. are very uncomfortable in summers as they don’t breathe well (if at all), and are not a good choice for daily wear in the local climate.

The other types of fabrics used in our part of the world are blends and knits. Blends combine different properties and different fibres, which sometimes is a good thing as it provides crease resistance, durability, etc. Sometimes the result is awful (olefin fabrics, PVC coated polyester, etc. being some of the best, rather worst examples). Linen/cotton blends in particular are a fine example of good blended fabric. Blends of natural and synthetic fibres tend to be less expensive and easier to care for, but as they do not breathe well, should be reserved for winters. Knits, on the other hand are difficult to work with and are best if bought in ready-to-wear form.

The fabric tradition in Pakistan has been influenced by a number of factors, like geographical location, historical influences, climate, local culture, social customs, availability of the thread etc. A variety of silks, cottons, wools etc. have been used by local people, and the geo-climatic and ethnic diversity has given birth to a myriad of fabrics.

The local malls provide an array of textiles, materials and a vast colour palette.Tie and dye, hand printing and block printing are common across the country. Here is a brief overview of the local malls and what you should look for in your fabric shopping spree.

Rabi Centre

This sells a massive variety of fabrics. Hence girls, women and even men have some reason to be happy while walking down its corridors. One gets both traditional as well as the latest trends in fabrics here.

This shopping centre caters to all income levels and while it offers everything from fancy shimmering silks to good quality fine silk, georgette, cotton, chiffon and banarsi, it is the premium quality georgettes that bring the shoppers in droves.

Gulf Shopping Mall

This place is full of unstitched fabric, perhaps, not in the vast quantity as Rabi Centre, but enough to make it difficult to choose what to buy and what not. Cottons, banarsis, silks and georgettes in all qualities and prices are up for sale. Indian batik cottons are also available here, which are very different from other batik; if you love the feel of cotton but are searching for gorgeous intricate prints then this is the fabric for you.

The prices are mostly affordable and the mall caters to diverse income groups. Young girls prefer buying unstitched material from here and accessorising them with a matching bag and sandals or fancy chappals.

Aashiyana: If you are looking to get a best deal on silk, cotton or chiffon, this is the right place for you. The unique twisted silk yarn is also available here. “This high quality yarn is made by twisting three yarns together into one,” shop owner Ayaz Khan tells me. Brocades are also a very popular item here.

Jali, moon light, velvet and all sorts of net fabric are some of the other treasures available her. Fancy net fabric in printed and plain, rose net variety, net with moti dana and embroidery are some of the most sought after items. The best quality of chiffon is available in a vast variety and smart shoppers may find amazing bargains. Georgette are also close at hand; both in plain and printed as well as embroidered, embellished, block printed and in self prints.

Continental Trade Center: This is a sprawling fabric market, few steps away from Gulf that specialises in fancy festive fabrics. If you have a taste for brocade but a budget for polyester, this is the place for you. You can get everything here from chenille to corduroys, damask to silks, flannel to imitation and original silks, vinyl to woven fabrics.

Some other places to go fabric hunting are Papoosh in the old district of the city, Jubilee Bazaar in Saddar and the Pathan stalls at Sunday Market. If you are a khadi lover and cannot afford the designer brands, don’t worry –– there are alternatives. Khadi from the handlooms of Orangi and Banaras Town is sold at small shops in Mohammad Ali Society and there is a whole range of shops behind Jafferjee’s Clifton outlet. These khadi shops offer fairly affordable prices; a shirt piece of plain fabric here costs Rs150, the embroidered and embellished ones costs Rs250 and a three-piece suit costs anywhere from Rs300 to Rs650.

Pakistan has a rich and diverse weaving tradition. One can find different types of handlooms across the country, which offers us a huge variety of fabric. There is a glut of fabric items in the domestic market and the Pakistani textile and allied products are not only popular within the country but also have an enormous market abroad. Happy shopping!
